A Mother and Daughter: A Heart-warming Ballet Moment

“A mother and daughter always share a special bond, which is engraved on their hearts.” – Unknown

Today, I was once again sorting through photos from the concert at Nazareth House which took place back in December last year. I came across a truly beautiful picture. I have no idea how I didn’t notice it straight away!

It’s of a mother and daughter. The little girl is six years old, and her mum attends our adult ballet classes. They performed a duet at the concert. The most fascinating part is that they put the dance together just three days before the performance! We had learned this dance in our adult ballet classes, and they simply adapted it slightly. They rehearsed at home, quickly bought some props (they danced with snowflakes), and on the day of the concert, they were absolutely unique and incredibly captivating.

The audience whispered among themselves after their performance, and after the concert, two women approached them and asked how they were related. When they found out they were mother and daughter, one of the women exclaimed, “I knew it! Only a mother can look at her child with such loving eyes.”

That’s the memory this photo brings back.

Step Into Your Child’s Shoes – Join Our Adult Ballet Classes!

If you’d like to step into your child’s shoes and experience what it’s like to dance, come along to our adult ballet classes! You’ll learn what plié, arabesque, sautés, and much more are all about. Our group is small, and we all dance for the joy of it. Classes take place on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm at Haven Green Baptist Church. There’s no need for a uniform—just wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. And who knows? Maybe next year, you’ll want to take part in the concert too. We’d be absolutely delighted!

A Special Thank You to Nada and Audrey

To finish, I want to say a huge thank you to Nada and Audrey for their enthusiasm, their participation, and their bravery. Not everyone can pull something together so last minute like that! I’m so proud of you both—sending you a big hug!

With love,
Elena ❤️
